Harry Potter author JK Rowling might be the target of the most absurd police investigation in a long time.
The 58-year-old Englishwoman is arguably the most powerful voice in the world when it comes to standing up for women and protecting women’s spaces from men (including transgender women). Her critics therefore describe her as “transphobic”.
But in reality, Rowling is simply insisting on the basis of every human life – that men and women are biologically different. But this actually trivial statement does not fit into the zeitgeist.
Rowling refuses to reconsider her stance – and thus enters the orbit of “crime”. In England, the police have started an investigation into “pronouns and gender identity”. Transsexual India Willoughby – a man who claims to be a woman – revealed in an interview with Byline TV that the police were called in because Rowling refused to refer to Willoughby as a woman.
The first transgender television reporter in the UK now wants authorities to take action once morest Rowling publicly expressing her opinion: “This is a hate crime and should be treated in the same way as someone calling a black man the N-word or an Asian man using the P.” -word (derogatory term for Pakistanis),” demanded Willoughby.
In the UK, people can be prosecuted for “hostility based on their transgender identity,” the same TV report said. Or in other words: Cheers to Swiss freedom of expression. Imagine being arrested because you refuse to believe that a man is a woman.
