JJ Watt: From NFL Star to TV Pundit – Join the Excitement and Insight on CBS Sports

JJ Watt retired after the previous season. However, the Houston Texans’ former first-round pick will remain on the NFL circuit, albeit in an unfamiliar role.

During his playing days, Watt was known for not mincing his words. The former defensive end liked to put his finger in the wound to draw attention to grievances in the team.

Watt should also act consistently for “CBS Sports” in the future. The TV station has now announced that TJ Watt’s brother has signed a multi-year contract as a TV pundit, which will come into effect as of next season.

The Texans icon is emulating Tom Brady, among others, who will soon return to the NFL stage as an analyst.

“I love the game too much to stay away from it entirely,” Watt said in a statement. “I’m extremely excited to join CBS Sports and be a part of all NFL shows and platforms, including working with JB, Coach, Boomer, Phil and Nate.”

Meanwhile, the first TV highlight should be waiting for Watt in week 4. At the Houston Texans’ home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the ex-professional was inducted into the Ring of Honor by his former team. It is doubtful that the five-time Pro Bowler will comment on the ceremony himself at the same time.

NFL: JJ Watt wants to convince with competence and humor

On the pitch, Watt always provided good entertainment with his strong performances. The 34-year-old apparently wants to maintain this high level in his TV job.

“Hopefully fans will enjoy the insight and knowledge I’ve gained in my 12 years in the NFL, and if we’re lucky we’ll share a few laughs along the way,” continued the three-time Defensive Player of the Year .

Watt was the 11th pick by the Texans in the 2011 NFL Draft. A decade later, he left Houston to sign with the Arizona Cardinals for two seasons. After being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation the previous year, Watt ultimately decided to end his NFL career at the end of the season.
