JIT formed to probe PTI’s social media campaign against institutions – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a 5-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate PTI’s organized campaign against institutions on social media, the notification of which has also been issued.

PTI’s digital media wing is accused of organized propaganda against the state and institutions. A high-powered JIT has been constituted on the matter. The FIA ​​has issued a notification of a joint investigation team.

IG Police Islamabad will be the convener of JIT. Members include FIA ​​and police officers.

The JIT has been ordered to investigate organized social media propaganda based on malicious intent. The JIT will make recommendations for action against the culprits as per law.

It should be noted that a few days ago, law enforcement agencies raided the head office of PTI’s digital media cell in Islamabad based on evidence that PTI’s digital media center has become a hub for international disinformation. It has happened and all over the world, anti-Pakistan propaganda was conducted from here in collaboration with anti-national agencies.

It should be noted that a raid was conducted on the main office of the digital media cell of the party after seeing suspicious activities on the mobile phone of PTI’s Ahmed Waqas Janjua, who was arrested a few days ago.

Later, the police also sealed the central secretariat and arrested 11 people including leader Rauf Hassan. At present, 11 accused other than Rauf Hasan are handed over to the police on physical remand.

While the Islamabad High Court issued notices to the parties on the request to deseal the Central Secretariat of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and sought their response.
