Jirga will be convened within the framework of Balochistan issues: Zia Longo

Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Longo has said that he will convene a Jirga comprising all concerned persons regarding the problems of the province, in which the dialogue process will be carried forward within the framework of Pakistan.

In a special interview given to Independent Urdu, Mir Ziaullah Longo discussed the political and security situation of Balochistan and other issues including missing persons.

Ziaullah Longo said that political parties and all stakeholders should be on the same page to find a political solution to the Balochistan problem.

In response to a question from the leaders sitting outside regarding the talks, he said that we are calling a jirga regarding the Balochistan issue and will take the talks forward within the framework of Pakistan.

According to Ziaullah Longo: “The government is on the same page with regard to negotiations that everyone should talk.”

During the interview, the provincial interior minister expressed his ‘dissatisfaction’ with the performance of the political parties and politicians of Balochistan and said that they are in denial of the reality of the overall situation of the country and prefer their political interests.

At the same time, he said that ‘we make the people of Balochistan believe that we are participating in the election and political process because we will not compromise on national and country interests.’

Missing persons While talking about the issue, Ziaullah Longo said that when he became the interior minister, he himself spoke to the leaders of the organization ‘Voice for Baloch Missing Persons’, Mama Qadeer Baloch, Nasrullah Baloch and other women. Went and met and invited him to his office.

According to Mir Zia Longo: ‘They came to his office and gave a list of 400-450 people, of which 350-400 people returned.’

He said that then Sardar Akhtar Mengal presented another list which contained only names.

On Wednesday, Ziaullah Longo said during a press conference in Quetta that by arresting two important commanders of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Nasrullah alias Maulvi Mansoor and Idris alias Irshad. During the press conference, the captured commander Nasrullah’s recorded statement was also played, in which he claimed that the Indian agency ‘RAW’ had joined the TTP and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) while the TTP was the current one. It has the backing of the Afghan government.

During the interview, Ziaullah Longo said, “There are packages for all schools of thought in the current budget.”

According to Ziaullah Longo: ‘Can’t satisfy 100 percent of people or members. Here, at the will of the members, the proposals cannot be fully implemented’.

It should be noted that in the assembly meeting regarding the budget, the president of the National Party, former chief minister and other members of the assembly walked out of the meeting, while Asadullah Baloch of Balochistan National Party (BNP) Awami expressed his reservations regarding the budget. Regarding the change of the government, Zia Longo said during the interview that “he is currently with the Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti”.
