Im Jin-hee (24) took the lead for two days in a row at the McCall and Mona Park Open (total prize money of 800 million won) on the Korea Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) tour.
In the second round of the second day of the tournament held at Birch Hill Golf Club (par 72, 6,434 yards) in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do on the 2nd, Im Jin-hee hit a 3-under-par 69 with 4 birdies and 1 bogey.
Im Jin-hee, who recorded a total of 8-under 136 over two days, started the final round on the 3rd while leading 2nd place Yunna (19) by two strokes.
Jinhee Lim is challenging her 2nd win on the tour for the first time in over a year since the BC Card and Hankyung Ladies Cup in June of last year.
Lim Jin-hee said, “It’s the first time I’ve taken the lead in the final round alone,” and “I had good results in the summer during the second tour, and it was also my birthday last week when it was hot.”
Rookie Ina Yoon is aiming for the first championship on the regular tour with a solo second place by two strokes.
Rookie Ye-won Lee (19) is included in the group tied for third place, three shots behind the lead with a 5-under par 139, so it is interesting whether the first rookie champion of the season will be born in this competition.
In the tie for third place, in addition to Lee Ye-won, four other names were Park Gyeol (26), Lee Ki-bum (28), and Choi Ye-rim (23).
Park Hyun-kyung (22) is tied for ninth with a 3-under 141 stroke.
Last year’s winner, Kim Hae-rim (33), lost six strokes on this day alone and missed the cut with a six-over-par 150.
