Ceremony presenter said Oscar broadcaster Jimmy Kimmel That he was studying “martial arts” before the concert that will be held tonight, March 12th, at exactly seven o’clock USA time, and two in the morning on March 13th at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
And this is following what happened during the 2022 ceremony, where world actor Will Smith slapped the host, Chris Rock, following the comedian made a comment regarding Jada Pinkett Smith, who was also present.
Kimmel, who previously hosted the event in 2017 and 2018, is set to headline the action at the 95th Academy Awards, and upon announcing his presence, producers said Kimmel would be “ready for anything.”
Speaking to the website USA TodayThe broadcaster revealed: “I have been studying martial arts since they asked me to host the Oscars this year, but the fact of the matter is that I am not ready for anything. I am ready for some things, but anything involving violence I will have to run away. I am not quite ready.”
Kimmel ended his speech by saying, “They had a kind of crisis management meeting where I think they dream regarding the scenarios that we might face, in an attempt to ensure that nothing goes wrong during this year, and I know what worries them, but I hope that I do not get slapped.”
Smith has resigned from the Academy of Picture Arts and Sciences, which hand out the Academy Awards.OscarsAfter a number of apologies to the rockers and the organizers, he was then banned from attending all Academy events for 10 years.
However, Kimmel revealed that he believes Smith might come back, stating, “People have to give him time or give themselves time and get over him, and so I think, yeah, he’ll come back, and I think that very strongly.”
