Leading 3-0 in their series against Boston, the Heat had the opportunity to validate their ticket to the 2023 NBA Finals that night. Miami finally missed out against a very focused Celtics team, but nothing to worry about Jimmy Butler.
Victory or defeat, Jimmy B. is not one to lose confidence. So it’s not a defeat while his team was leading three wins to nothing that will disturb the Miami superstar.
Despite tonight’s big setback and an Eastern Conference Finals set to return to Boston, Butler wanted to send a very clear message to Heat fans who might be starting to doubt: “Everything will be alright”.
“We have to be consistent in what we do. We will do what we usually do after each match. We’ll listen to some music, we’ll drink some beers, some wine. […] In the end, you rely on your habits. With my team, we will smile, we will stick together, and we will take an away game.
With his smirk, Jimmy has just guaranteed a victory for the Heat in Game 5 in Boston on Thursday night, unless he was talking about a potential Game 7 but we doubt it knowing the mentality of the boy.
One of Jimmy Butler’s great strengths is his ability to instil confidence in the entire Florida group. In particular because he is the type to assume his words with actions, to carry his team when they need it most, and because he has this emotional stability which is essential in the Playoffs. The ups and downs at this stage of the competition are inevitable, the main thing is to stay true to the principles that have allowed you to get here.

The Heat will obviously have to raise their voices in Boston on Thursday – especially defensively – to hope to win, but Jimmy Butler is calm as usual. So if you’re a Heat fan and you fear a historic turnaround against the Celtics, we only have one thing to tell you: “Keep calm and trust Jimmy”.
