Jeonju International Film Festival, Seoul International Women’s Film Festival Grand Prize
‘Kim Min-young of the report card’ will be released on September 8th.
Etnine Film Co., Ltd. released the release schedule and teaser poster for ‘Kim Min-young of the report card’ on the 8th.
‘Kim Min-young on the Report Card’ is a 20-year-old buddy movie regarding two friends, ‘Jeong-hee’ and ‘Min-young’, who thought that the friendship of those days would last even following they graduate from silver and turn 20. Kim Joo-ah and Yoon A-jeong take on the roles of 20-year-old friends Jeong-hee and Min-yeong in ‘Kim Min-young on the Report Card’.
This work won the 22nd Jeonju International Film Festival Korean Competition Grand Prize, 23rd Seoul International Women’s Film Festival Korean Competition (Discovery) Grand Prize, 3rd Pyeongchang International Peace Film Festival Special Mention, Audience Special Award, 9th Seoul Guro International Children’s Film Festival Grand Prize, The 23rd Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival Audience Award, Tingrandong Award, 4th Gochang Rural Film Festival, Korean Feature Competition Audience Award, etc.
Director Lee Jae-eun, who co-directed, said, “Jung-hee’s desire to be with Min-young, that feeling, was always at the center. It was an emotion I knew very well, and human relationships were always a topic I was interested in.”
Director Lim Ji-sun said, “As I got to know independent films and diverse films, I thought that everyday moments and my personal stories might also be made into movies. The desire to tell my story was the beginning.”
Meanwhile, ‘Kim Min-young of Report Card’ was officially invited to the 51st Rotterdam International Film Festival, the 18th Hong Kong Asian International Film Festival, the 41st Hawaii International Film Festival, the 22nd San Diego Asian Film Festival, and the 36th Mar del Plata International Film Festival not only in Korea but also in Korea. Interest is continuing even in international film festivals.
