Jessica Pegula (WTA 5) is the first to qualify for the semi-finals of the WTA Masters. The American dominated world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-4 6-3 on Tuesday in Cancun during the second day of Group A.
The two players won their first match on Sunday. Pegula thus takes the lead of the group alone and is even assured of 1st place after the victory of the Kazakh Elena Rybakina over the Greek Maria Sakkari 6-0 6-7 (4/7) 7/6 (7/2) .
