Jerney Kaagman of Earth & Fire Misses Tribute Event Due to Health Issues

The health of former Idols-jury member Jerney Kaagman has deteriorated recently. The 77-year-old singer, best known from the pop group Earth & Fire, has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for some time.

In conversation with The Telegraph Ronald Platier announced that he will be organizing a fan day for the fans of Earth & Fire, but that Kaagman will not be able to attend due to her health.

“She is too sick, quickly tired and does not always have clear moments,” says Platier. “According to her medical supervisors it is better if she watches at home, via a video connection.” Platier says that a professional camera crew will be present during the fan day, so that the images can be offered to Kaagman later.

Rob de Nijs’ health is also deteriorating. The singer, who has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for a long time, can no longer do much physically, according to his wife:

Despite medication to slow the decline, Kaagman’s condition has deteriorated in recent years aggravated. Platier says that the singer still lives at home, but needs 24-hour care. That is why there is always nursing staff present in her home in Blaricum.
