Jérémy Frérot and Laure Manaudou forced to leave their house in Gironde because of the fires: “It was untenable” | People

Due to the fires which are currently ravaging the Gironde, Jérémy Frérot and Laure Manaudou, as well as their children, have been forced to leave their house, located not far from the Dune du Pilat. In the columns of Le Parisien, the 32-year-old singer said: “There was too much smoke, it was unbearable.”

As the flames continue to ravage part of Gironde, in southwestern France, many inhabitants of the region have been forced to leave their homes to seek shelter. Among the evacuees: Jérémy Frérot and Laure Manaudou, as well as their three children, who live in La Teste-de-Buch, near the Dune du Pilat.

Still in shock, Jérémy Frérot confided in this subject in the columns of Parisian this Tuesday, July 19. “Yesterday (Monday July 18, editor’s note), from the path leading to my house, I saw the flames of the forest, it was constantly growing. That night, we had to evacuate, there was too much smoke, it was unbearable”, he explained, before adding: “It was coming into the house, impossible to fall asleep. We were afraid of getting intoxicated and never waking up.”

To shelter

By mutual agreement with his wife Laure Manaudou, the 32-year-old singer preferred to play the “security” card by evacuating the premises as quickly as possible. The family left their home to go to Gujan-Mestras, a neighboring town. “And since it burns, it burns. We can still see these clouds of smoke in front of us,” he said.

The artist then wanted to salute the courage and work of the firefighters who have been fighting the flames for days. “They are doing a crazy job,” he said, before sounding the alarm on the consequences of global warming: “We take global warming in the face. And these phenomena will come back all the time. These extreme heat are more than problematic.”
