The home team Djurgården took home the three points following victory once morest Sundsvall FBC in Allsvenskan north men. 6-5 (0-1, 4-2, 2-2) ended the match on Sunday.
– We are not quite there in the first period, it feels like we were taken by the seriousness of the moment. After the timeout at 0-3, we took control of the game and deservedly won in a good physical match, commented Djurgården’s coach Rickard Gustafsson following the match.
Max Ernstsson became the match hero with his decisive 6-5 goal 16.27 into the third period.
Sundsvall FBC took the lead following 5.23, through Anton Lundgren on a pass from Albin Tällberg. Djurgården led the game in the second period. The team won the period 4-2 and the score following two periods was 4-3.
Djurgården opened the third period by making it 5-3 through Lukas Granath, before Sundsvall FBC responded and caught up. The receipt was provided by Hassan Hajo played by Andreas Lindqvist following 12.49.
In the final minutes, however, it was Djurgården that decided. Max Ernstsson made the match decider 6-5 following 16.27, on a pass from Theodor Svensson.
This was Djurgården’s third odd-goal victory this season. The loss was also Sundsvall FBC’s fourth odd goal loss.
With one round to go, Djurgården is in sixth place in the table, while Sundsvall FBC is in third place.
In the next match, Djurgården meets Skälby away and Sundsvall FBC meets Tyresö Trollbäcken at home. Both matches will be played on Saturday 16 March at 1.30pm.
