The 55-year-old singer’s fans may have been hoping to learn more about her mental state, but the story she posted on Instagram on Friday had nothing to do with it, which probably disappointed those who were waiting for details about her split from the 52-year-old actor.
Instead of sharing new content, JLo reposted an earlier selfie that was shared by a fan account.
This particular post was a bit unbelievable, as it appeared to be from a photo shoot from December 2020, according to People.
Jennifer looked as radiant as ever in the throwback photo, which showed her thick, caramel-colored locks falling over her shoulders and chest.
She was dressed in a pink fleece jacket to match the colder weather and a Christmas tree could be seen peeking in the back corner, confirming the snap was taken during the holidays.
Other than the post, which Jennifer shared without comment or context, she has remained silent since filing for divorce.
It is worth noting that Jennifer filed the paperwork herself and did not have an attorney representing her, although she may have an attorney in the future.
She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for filing for divorce.
Although she was the one to testify and Ben apparently chose not to, Us Weekly reported on Friday that she was allegedly well aware of her plans.
The estranged couple had reportedly “already agreed to these terms before applying”.
They said the two had “worked through all the details” of the deposition beforehand, describing it as a “planned” event, rather than a file designed to surprise Ben.
“JLo ultimately pulled the trigger because that was their agreement that she would testify, and she was the one who ultimately made the decision,” the source added.
The report largely aligns with the couple’s decision to fake a healthy marriage for months with occasional public outings together, even though they have already split behind the scenes.
The source noted that both parties “came with significant assets of their own,” so they reportedly have no plans to fight over their wealth, leaving their massive Beverly Hills mansion as their only significant joint property to sell off.
Divorce attorney Chris Melcher told Us Weekly that even though no prenuptial agreement was mentioned in Jennifer’s divorce filing, that doesn’t mean the two didn’t have one in place.
