Loaned during the weekend to Botafogo, Jeffinho leaves OL a year following his arrival. Nevertheless, the Brazilian winger intends to return between Rhône and Saône next winter.
Sunday once morest Pontarlier (0-3), Pierre’s offensive rotations Sage were more than limited. Alexandre Lacazette, Rayan Cherki and Diego Moreira were the only offensive elements and all three had been lined up from the start in Besançon. There were therefore no solutions on the bench to make one of the three breathe and only the Lyon captain left his place ten minutes from the end, replaced by the left side who is Henrique. This shortage of attackers can be explained by CAN 2024 (Baldé, Nuamah) but also by the winter transfer window which has already led to two offensive departures. Just one year following his arrival at OL, the Brazilian winger was sent back to Rio de Janeiro while his compatriots Lucas Perri et Adryelson were going the opposite way. At 24, Jeffinho will try to find more regular playing time with “Fogo” and will compete in the Libertadores Cup during his year in Brazil. Because “Little Jeff”, as some Lyon supporters call him, intends to return between Rhône and Saône to win there.
Under contract until 2027 with OL, Jeffinho gave an appointment to fans in a year in a message on his social networks. “My first year at Lyon was really special for me. I was warmly welcomed by all the fans, I discovered a new culture and I matured a lot during this year. (…) Even if I will be far away, I I will continue to follow and support the team of which I am a part! Let’s keep moving forward! Come on OL, see you soon…”
