Venezuelan footballer Jefferson Savarino scored the goal with which Botafogo won 1-0 on Thursday as a visitor to Vitória in the 16th round of Serie A, First Division of Brazil.

Savarino, who scored for the second consecutive match in the Brasileirao, scored in the 62nd minute of a match that took place at the Manoel Barradas stadium, located in Salvador de Bahía.

The player, who was part of a Venezuelan team that reached the quarter-finals at the 2024 Copa América in the United States, took advantage of a rebound inside the area, given by local goalkeeper Lucas Arcanjo, to connect with a right-footed shot and shake the Guarals.

Records

Savarino, who started for Botafogo and remained on the field throughout the match, reached four goals in the competition in the top category of Amazonian football.

Thanks to the success in the recent match, Botafogo added three points and increased its total from 30 to 33 to place itself at the top of the general classification.

Vitória, on the other hand, was unable to increase its tally of 15 and is ranked fifteenth out of 20 teams.
