Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who has an estimated net worth of $199.6 billion, is once more the second-richest person in the world as of Thursday, surpassing Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whose estimated net worth is $197.4 billion. It is also the second change of the week for the billionaires in battle.
Bezos overtook Musk following losing his position as America’s richest person on Monday, following a surge in Tesla shares that put Musk ahead of Bezos and made him regarding $25 billion richer than he was just six days earlier.
Bezos’ estimated net worth increased by regarding $2.5 billion as of midday Thursday, while Musk’s fortune had fallen by regarding $276 million, according to Forbes real-time billionaires list.

The richest person in the world remains LVMH’s Bernard Arnault, whose fortune was estimated at $206.9 billion as of this morning.
Amazon shares were up 1.84% by midday. Tesla’s share price, on the other hand, rose regarding 0.08%.
The two billionaires have gone back and forth for the position of second-richest person in the world for months, changing positions at least 13 times in March. But prior to March, Musk had consistently ranked first or second on the list: March 6 was the first time since August 19, 2021, that he ranked outside the top two in the real-time rankings of Forbes.
Bezos enjoyed a boom in wealth earlier this year, and Musk’s fortunes are changing as Tesla (which just announced hundreds of cuts to its workforce this week) has struggled, causing the continued swings.
