Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept: boosted

Do you remember the Magneto concept unveiled by Jeep last year as part of its traditional Easter Safari? For the 2022 edition of the big rally in the Moab desert, the American brand has visibly revised its copy of the concept heralding its future electric Wrangler. Among a shower of new concepts, as has become a tradition during Easter Safari, Jeep has indeed presented a 2.0 version of its Wrangler Magneto.

Same battery, but…

This new iteration retains an identical look as well as the same battery pack, divided into four modules for better mass distribution, of 70 kWh operating at 800 volts. There is also the original 6-speed manual transmission (rare equipment for an electric vehicle) from the previous concept.

… torque more than tripled!

On the other hand, Jeep has seriously revised the electrical mechanics of its Magneto concept. If the first concept of its kind was content with 285 hp and 370 Nm of torque, this Magneto 2.0 sees its power more than double to reach 625 hp. But also its torque more than tripled! It culminates this time at 1,152 Nm…

« Ferrari » Wrangler !

This allows this concept prefiguring the future electric version of the legendary all-terrain to display performance worthy of a supercar! The traditional exercise of the sprint from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) is dispatched by the mastodon posed on large off-road tires of 40 inches in just 2 seconds…
