On Sunday, talks on the Ukraine war continue to be hosted by the Saudi city of Jeddah, with the participation of senior officials from regarding 40 countries.
The correspondent of “Sky News Arabia” channel said that today is the second and last of the talks in Jeddah between the officials, who were invited to exchange views on the Ukrainian crisis.
He added, “Unlike the previous Copenhagen meetings, the Chinese side participates in the Jeddah talks by virtue of the excellent political and diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia.”
He pointed out that the meetings were “closed, and they took place in bilateral and tripartite forms, as well as at one table, in the presence of the Ukrainian side.”
Our correspondent explained that “the nature of these talks does not require issuing a joint statement or announcing the outcomes, because the main purpose is to bring points of view together and put forward opinions to reach a peaceful solution to this crisis.”
It is noteworthy that the talks come within the framework of heavy diplomatic pressure from Ukraine to mobilize support beyond the scope of the main Western supporters, by reaching out to countries in the southern hemisphere.
