Jeddah slum development; Demolition of the building resumed

Jeddah: The Slum Development Committee has announced that demolition work has resumed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as part of a slum development project. Demolition work was suspended during Ramadan.

Demolition work has resumed in 12 districts of the city. Prior to the demolition, the Slum Development Committee began issuing notices to owners and residents asking them to vacate the buildings. Demolition work resumed in the districts of Banimalik, Al-Wurood, Mushrifa, Jamia, Al-Rihab, Aziziya, Al-Wawabi, Al-Rabwa, Al-Munta Sahat, Khuwaisa, Al-Adr, Alfadr, Umm Salam and Kilo 14. The demolition work will be completed by August 27.

12 slums to be evacuated in Jeddah following Eid; Corporation with warning

Riyadh: 12 more slums will be evacuated in Jeddah following a short feast. The Jeddah Municipality has issued a warning to those living in these slums. The demolition of slums in Jeddah is part of urban development. The city council has warned residents of 12 slums to take advantage of the scheme, which seeks alternative accommodation.

Development Housing Units can be availed by authorized occupant families and building owners who are evacuating buildings with documents. But the municipality said it was studying the case of citizens living in such slums who are not social security beneficiaries and have no documents. The areas to be demolished following Eid are Bani Malik, Al Wurood, Jamia, Rehab, Rawabi, Aziziya, Rabua, Al Mundasahat, Khuwaisa, Al Adl Walfadl, Umm Al Salam and 14 kg.
