Jayasuriya starrer Katanaar is directed by Rojin Thomas who directed Phillips and Monkey Pen and Home. South Indian actress Anushka Shetty, who has won the hearts of the moviegoers, will play the lead role. This is also Anushka’s first Malayalam film. The makers have now released the first glimpse video of the film. The 2-minute long video promises to be a visual treat.
R Ramanand has scripted the movie. The shooting of the film, produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Srigokulam Movies, began in April this year. The first schedule was completed following forty-three days of shooting. Filming of the movie is done through VFX and virtual production which is the most advanced technology. Katana’s stunt choreography is by JJ Park, who is of Korean origin and lives in Canada. Park has directed the action sequences of several foreign films. Top stars from other languages are also playing lead roles in the film.
A huge set was built for this film at Pookatupadi, Ernakulam. The sets of the film have been designed by Rajeev, a Malayalee who is known for his hit films in Tamil and Telugu languages. Cinematography of the film is done by Neil. Music is composed by Rahul Subramanian. The makers have released the first glimpse video on Jayasurya’s birthday. This is Jayasuriya’s biggest canvas film of his career. The first glimpses that have come out have a similar look and feel to Hollywood films.
