Priyanka Chopra Jonas had “people issues” in Bollywood.

The 40-year-old actress enjoyed huge success in India before moving to Hollywood, and Priyanka has just revealed why she decided to quit the Indian film industry.

On the ‘Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard’ podcast, Priyanka explained, “I was pushed to my limits in the industry.

“People wouldn’t cast me for reasons…I had differences with certain people. I was tired of politics. I was like, ‘I need a break.'” .

Priyanka signed a recording contract in the United States in 2011.

The actress – who is married to pop star Nick Jonas – explained that this contract opened the doors to America for her.

She expressed herself in these terms: “This music story gave me the opportunity to go to another part of the world, without needing the films that I wanted to obtain. But I had to go to certain clubs and some clicks and I had to crawl, and I had been working for a long time and I didn’t feel ready to do that.

So when this music thing came up, I was like, ‘Damn it! I’m going to America, and Interscope was great. They threw the building in my face.’

Meanwhile, Priyanka admitted she “can never please everyone.”

The actress, who has gained great popularity on social media, has come under pressure in India over her apparent reluctance to address domestic issues.

Priyanka, who has more than 85 million Instagram followers, told the BBC: There will always be people who say, ‘You didn’t say something regarding something’, ‘You should have said something something regarding something”. And that’s how you can never please everyone.”
