Singer Jay Park made a surprise mention of being expelled from the group 2PM in the past.
In the JTBC idol survival program ‘Peak Time’, which was first broadcast on the 15th, 23 idol teams who advanced to the survival round were depicted on stage.
The 23 teams advancing to the finals were divided into △Rookie section, which has just debuted △Booster section, which is still active but wants to upgrade due to low awareness, △Inactive section, which is inactive due to contract termination or military vacancy.
MC Lee Seung-gi explained to those who advanced to the finals, “I can’t tell you the team name from now on.”
He then gave each team a new team name, which means time, saying, “You can only use a new team name instead of the existing team name.” It is a method of revealing the team name at that time when it rises to the TOP 6.
In particular, MC Lee Seung-gi received cheers from the cast by saying, “The winning team will be given a prize of 300 million won.”
Jay Park, who heard the huge prize money, showed his willingness to participate and laughed, saying, “I was also suspended from activities a long time ago. Can I participate there?”
In response, singer Cho Kyu-hyun, a former member of the group Super Junior, added laughter by dissuading him by saying, “Jae-bum, you’re too old to do that.”
Then, on the first stage of the survival round of ‘Peak Time’, the ’14:00′ team rose.
When the team at 14:00, which means 2pm (2PM), introduced the team with a sweet melody, Cho Kyu-hyun, who heard it, shouted “Oh! 2PM” to Jay Park, embarrassing Jay Park.
Upon hearing this, Tiffany Young responded, “It’s been a long time since I’ve heard it.” Lee Ki-kwang and Song Min-ho burst into laughter at Jo Kyu-hyun’s prank.
In September 2009, when Jay Park was active as the leader of the group 2PM, a post he posted on his SNS (social network service) Myspace was misinterpreted and became known as disparaging Korea, and he declared his departure from the group and left for the United States.
The article turned out to be an article regarding the difficulty of adapting to life in Korea, not a disparagement of Korea, but in February 2010, 2PM’s agency, JYP Entertainment, announced Jay Park’s permanent withdrawal, citing personal life issues as the reason.
Afterwards, Jay Park officially returned as a solo singer with the release of the EP album ‘Take A Deeper Look’ in April 2011, and continued to be active as the founder of ‘AOMG’, ‘Higher Music’ and ‘More Vision’ as well as the owner of ‘Wonsoju’.
