Jay Briscoe dies at 38

We regret to inform that the professional wrestler Jamin Pughknown as Jay Briscoepassed away at the age of 38 on the followingnoon of January 17, 2022.

The news was initially announced by Tony Khan, who did not initially specify the cause of the event. Several close sources confirmed that Pugh was in a car accident on the highway in Laurel, Delaware. A second unidentified person also died at the same time. The specific details of the event have not yet been revealed to the public.

Jamin Pugh’s professional wrestling career began in the mid-2000s.. The wrestler began and ended his wrestling journey alongside his brother Mark Pugh, becoming known in the ring as the “Midnight Outlawz” in their earliest stages in CZW. In 2002, Mark and Jay adopted the last name Briscoe. that would characterize them from then on. The team would gain notoriety in companies like the National Wrestling Alliance, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and House of Glory, just to name a few.

But it was in Ring of Honor where Jay managed to establish himself as one of the most important names of said company. In addition to an incredible record thirteen reigns as tag team champion, Jay achieved individual notoriety by lift the ROH World Championship twice. The fighter is also part of the first ROH Hall of Fame team along with his brother Mark. Jay left this world being the current company tag team champion.
