Jawaria Khan has announced his retirement from international cricket

Pakistani cricketer Jawaria Khan has announced his retirement from international cricket.

She started her fifteen-year ODI career on 6 May 2008 once morest Sri Lanka in the Women’s Asia Cup at Kurunegala, Sri Lanka.

He made his T20 International debut once morest Ireland in Dublin in 2009.

Jawaria represented the Pakistan Women’s team in 228 international matches and scored 4,903 runs including two centuries and 25 fifties. He also took 28 international wickets.

Jawaria is currently the second highest run-scorer for the Pakistan Women’s team in ODIs and T20Is and is the only Pakistani woman cricketer to score more than 2,000 runs in each format apart from Bisma Maruf.

He represented Pakistan in four 50-over World Cups (2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022) and all eight T20 World Cups (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2023).

Jawaria was also part of the Pakistan Women’s team squad that won gold medals in the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games held in China and South Korea.

Jawaria also captained the Pakistan Women’s team in 17 ODIs and 16 T20Is. She also captained the team in two editions (2018 and 2020) of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

The 35-year-old Karachi-born player also participated in the PCB Level 2 Cricket Coaches Course held in Lahore in August last year.

Jawaria Khan said that there is a time for everything and this is the time to announce my retirement but she will remain available for league cricket.

I would like to thank my family, teammates, Pakistan Cricket Board, my organization ZTBL for their support and guidance every step of the way and thank my fans for encouraging me to perform at my best. I have had the honor of carrying the flag of Pakistan around the world, which I am proud of.
