“And now with you, Don Francisco!”was the classic phrase with which the American-Cuban introduced Mario Kreutzberger on Chilean television.
His debut on the program occurred in 1991, when Romero was just 27 years old. He progressively became an essential part of the show, becoming a familiar face to viewers.
His participation extended until 2015, when Giant Saturday came to its final end.
“I’m going to take a second to say goodbye to the audience, tell them how grateful I am for having accepted me during these last 25 years, “It has been a great pleasure, it is a very emotional moment for me”he noted, visibly moved, in his farewell.
“I thank you Javier for these 25 years that we have shared, thank you for everything,” replied Don Francisco.
After the end of Sábado Gigante, Romero dedicated himself to his role as a radio host, going on to host the program. “Breakfast” from the Latin station “Amor” in Miami, which he leads to this day and which runs from Monday to Friday from 5:30 to 11:00.
In 2021 he made history by being the first Cuban-American to be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in United States.
That same year he surprised Kreutzberger by presenting him on the program Despierta América, an instance in which they remembered how much they shared as co-workers on screen.
“This is very special because it is a reunion in a studio following several years. The last time we were together was September 19, 2015″said Don Francisco at that reunion.
Romero, for his part, showed a photo that he keeps in his house in which he appears in his debut on Sábado Gigante. “I treasure it in my home”, pointed out the announcer. “I keep it with great affection,” he added.
Currently Javier, who lives in Miami with his wife and three children, is a frequent user of social networkswhere he constantly shares images of his activities and work.
