Almost two weeks following his inauguration on December 10, President Javier Milei continues to fill in boxes in his government and that is why in the last few hours he appointed Miguel Blanco as the new owner of the General Sindicature of the Nation (Sigen).
It is the organization that is in charge of the State’s internal control systemwith the objective of enforcing state accounting standards and ensuring effective use of public resources.
The appointment of the new official came through a decree, in one of the areas that was still vacant in his leadership.
La Sigen was created in 1992 in the context of Law 24,156, on Financial Administration and Control Systems of the National Public Sector. It has legal status, administrative and financial autarky and depends directly on the Presidency.
Specifically, it is the organism that dictates and applies internal control standards, which must be coordinated with the General Auditor’s Office of the Nation. In addition, it must supervise the application of these standards in each of the corresponding sectors.

The new general trustee of the Nation chosen by President Javier Milei He is a Public Accountantreceived from the University of Buenos Aires, and has an extensive work and academic career.
Among other positions, he was director and General Director of the Center for Scientific and Technical Studies (CECyT), president of the Accounting Studies Commission of the Professional Council of Economic Sciences, president of the Technical Institute of Public Accountants, advisor to the National Securities Commission and member of the Accounting Standards and Companies Commission of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange.
He also had steps in the private sector, where he served as director of The Exxel Group, general manager of Argencard SA and general director of Swiss Medical Group. He, in turn, was president of IDEA, the Institute for Business Development of Argentina.
