(KVARTHA) There is now a big controversy after famous singer Jazzy Gift’s concert was disrupted in a college in Kerala. Jazzy was singing at a function held at St. Peter’s College in Ernakulam district. Suddenly, the college’s principal came to the stage and took the mic from Jazzy’s hand. Because this disdain is passed down by students and parents, and because teachers are under the illusion that they shape society, teachers have a sense that they are the big deal. Most of the teachers are egoists. They don’t learn anything from children. They work by teaching discipline to children by commanding, commanding, cursing and scaring them. Don’t you remember the outcry when Nanjamma, a tribal singer, won the National Award? Some are reluctant to accept jazzy gifts and nanchammas. It is a form of disdain for less privileged people. That principal is the latest example of that. The song ‘Lajjavatiye’ sung by Jazzy created a huge wave in Kerala. But the traditionalists were not amused by the song. Many people have made the observation that Malayalam cinema has shown caste discrimination against Jazzy Gift. Jazzy himself testified to this in an old interview. Jazzy has created superhit songs in all languages of South India. As long as Malayali exists, the song ‘Lajjavathiye’ will also exist. History will bless Jazzy. Those who throw stones at Jazzy remember that. There are some who insist that there must be things of the same intelligence, of the same weight, and of the same growth.
