An era is over.

Jason Kelce, 36, is ending his NFL career after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

He announced this at a press conference – where tears flowed.

It’s little brother Travis Kelce, 34, who gets the most headlines.

But for 13 years, older brother Jason has been a celebrated star and celebrated teammate of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now it’s over.

In a special press conference, the profile announced that he is hanging up after a successful career that included seven Pro Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl title.

Tears welled up

Jason Kelce had prepared a long speech, but the tears started to flow immediately and it took a long time before he could even formulate a word.

– I love this sport. “I’ve always loved football, from the time my brother and I played in the backyard at home, to school, the NFL and now,” he cleared his throat.

Brother Travis as well as mother Donna and father Ed were on hand at the press conference to support Jason, whose speech ended up lasting 45 minutes.

Travis was also in tears.

Time with family

Star center Jason Kelce already considered retirement after last season, when his Philadelphia Eagles went all the way to the Super Bowl but lost to Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs.

But it was another year.

Now more time awaits with wife Kylie and daughters Wyatt, Elliotte and Bennett.

– I don’t know what the future will look like, but I’m looking forward to the next chapter in life, he says.
