It is not at 51 that Jaromir Jagr will hang up his skates.
The venerable forward, who scored 766 NHL goals, intends to play once more for the Kladno Knights in Czechia.
This was confirmed by the team in an email exchange with RDS.
Jagr will be playing his seventh season with the Kladno team since leaving the NHL and the Calgary Flames, his last club on the Bettman circuit.
Last year, he played 26 games, scoring five goals and nine assists.
Jagr was a first-round pick, the fifth overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1990. He played eleven seasons with that team before successively playing for the Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, New York Flyers Philadelphia, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers and Flames.
He played a total of 1,733 regular season NHL games, amassing 1,921 points.
His NHL career was also interspersed with three seasons in the KHL before returning to North America.
