Former NHL star Jaromir Jagr practiced with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday in anticipation of his jersey being retired by the Pennsylvania team on Sunday.
Jagr, who is now 52 years old, skated alongside Sidney Crosby, Kristopher Letang and several others.
“It’s special for all of us to be here for this evening. We’re trying to take advantage of it and make it the best experience possible for him,” Crosby said.
“He made hockey history. He made a huge impact playing here. There are many reasons to be proud to represent this organization and this is one of them. »

“He’s still playing in a professional league, it’s crazy! I thought at this age I would be in a wheelchair,” Letang laughed. “He is so passionate. It’s nice to see, especially from someone who has brought so much to this city and this organization. It is a chance to witness this event. »
“It will be a special day tomorrow. I wore number 68 all my life, he was one of my favorite players growing up. I asked him to sign my jersey. »
Letang as well as Alex Nedeljkovic also took the opportunity to pay tribute or tease the legend by wearing the Longueuil cup, the iconic symbol of the big 68.

In his 36th season as a professional hockey player, Jagr still plays for his hometown club Kladno, where he wears the hats of player and owner.
