Jared Dudley will coach Dallas during the next Summer League

BREAKING NEWS! Jared Dudley will be the main coach of the Mavs for the next… Summer League. So mini breaking news.

It’s not going well right now for Dallas, to say the least. Mired in a galley season, the Mavs have (almost) abdicated in the play-in race following a nightmarish end to the season. The Dallas board is even considering putting Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić to rest in the last games to play the draft… An industrial disaster that coach Kidd and his assistant Jared Dudley were unable to contain.

The Mavericks therefore chose this (a bit unfortunate) timing to appoint Dudley as the team’s main coach for the next Summer League. No more doubts, the head is on vacation.

Jokes aside, the former sniper who notably worked for the Lakers, the Suns and even Brooklyn began his second year as an assistant coach this season. Invested in his player-coach transition, Dudley will coach the Mavs in the Summer League for the second consecutive year. The opportunity for him to repeat his scales and gain experience on the bench. Very close to his players, the former NBA mascot for 14 seasons seems to have a lot to pass on. Eventually, Dudley would be eyeing a position as head coach of an NBA franchise and in the meantime, he continues to learn alongside of the greatest by Jason Kidd.
