The name Jared Davidson may not be very, very familiar to you. And I don’t blame you.
But right now, the 20-year-old is getting his name started floating around.
Davidson is a fifth-round pick for the Canadiens in 2022. He was drafted on July 8, one day later than his 20th birthday. At 19, he impressed with 42 goals and 89 points in 64 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL.
But there, the main interested party has gone to the next level. This year, with those same Thunderbirds, he is burning the WHL with a total of 51 points…
And 32 parties.
Nicolas Cloutier (TVA Sports) went to meet his general manager, Bill LaForgeand the latter gave us a taste of what we might see from Davidson in the near future within the CH organization:
It is certainly a competitor (gamer). He’s not that big or that tall, but like Gallagher, he does turn up the heat when he jumps on the ice. He finishes his checks and is ready to defend his teammates. –Bill LaForge
In terms of points per game, Jared Davidson is 2nd among the hopes of the #CH this season.
At the time, he was cut from Midget AAA and now he might join the Rocket in a few months.
Nick Bobrov spoke regarding it in very glowing terms. https://t.co/jh8s5rXlcG— Nicolas Cloutier (@NCloutierTVA) January 11, 2023
Some will say that it is normal to see him be so good since he is 20 years old and still plays in the juniors. But Davidson isn’t ranked sixth in WHL scoring just because he’s one of the oldest in the league.
He is placed there because he has talent. And his 51 points collected in the space of 32 have the merit of being underlined.
As Nicolas Cloutier noted, thn terms of points per game, Jared Davidson is 2nd among the hopefuls of the Canadian this season. Joshua Roy finds himself in the front row.
The young man comes out of nowhere and I’m not shooting arrows at him saying that. However, I have the impression that we will start talking regarding him more often than not if he continues to dominate the way he does at the moment.
You will have understood that he is in his last season in the junior and that he will be ready to make the leap to the professionals at the end of the campaign. Could he lend a hand to the Laval Rocket to end the season, if the Thunderbirds are eliminated quickly in the WHL? That remains to be seen.
But, it will be interesting to follow his performance by the end of the season.
Oh yes…
I forgot to tell you that the hope of the CH knows how to use his fists:

“He has played better of late, but he hasn’t had a good first half. The Ducks expected more and so did he. He has struggled defensively, but he also hasn’t done what was expected offensively,” Wood on Klingberg #Ducks
