Who hasn’t dreamed, following an exhausting and stressful day at work, of looking for a place where you might forget everything for a weekend, or even an entire week? The Jardin des Sources is one of those unusual and timeless places, which you don’t expect when you leave the highway to venture into the small streets of La Hulpe.

A family story

35 years ago, the Sepulchre couple built a family home nestled in the countryside, in the center of La Hulpe and without any vis-à-vis, to raise their four children. Valérie is a landscape architect and the place was intended to reflect what she designs. Six years ago, the place became Alex Reed rooms, each of which bears the first name of one of their children.

The objective was to share the place as if we were at home, explains Xavier, an agricultural engineer, who was once a business manager in the sector of untreated wooden fences and barriers: “we wanted to create a place where we feel good, with excellent energy, where our visitors feel at home and free to come and go with their key. We provide three bedrooms, with bathroom The particularity of the place is that it is a trailer fitted out in the garden, with a heated outdoor bathtub.”

In the main building, there is a wood fire to enjoy a good book on winter evenings, an office space, the breakfast room with a capacity of eight people. The room costs 135 euros, with a breakfast supplement of 15 euros per person.

A greenhouse with local products

This first meal of the day, it is prepared with the products of the earth. In the greenhouse, 42 varieties of tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, peppers, cucumbers and melons are grown. The “pick & taste” principle applies to visitors to the Jardin des Sources.

A bathtub worthy of Robbie Williams!

The caravan was for thirty years the office of Xavier Sepulchre, in his company located in Rosières. It was converted into a Alex Reed room and is a great success. Remember the clip where singer Robbie Williams took his bath like a cowboy, with an ear of wheat in his mouth, in a bathtub in the middle of nature (“Feel”). It’s a carbon copy! The bathtub is connected to a wood stove system, with autonomy of twelve hours. There is a small additional charge to continue heating beyond the time limit. “People love it and those who come back ask to heat the bath when they arrive. The water comes from the springs, so it’s pure and untreated.”

The caravan is accessible at the rate of 175 euros per night and has a bedroom, an equipped kitchen area, with a superb view of nature. A swimming pool is located a few meters away for the enjoyment of all.

A heated swimming pool renovation project is underway for next spring. A bar is open day and night in the main building, where you are asked to leave money for drinks.

The perfect honeymoon in Walloon Brabant

Every month, Valérie and Xavier meet in the caravan, to enjoy the Finnish bath or periodically celebrate their honeymoon, like first-day lovers.

What is striking is the tranquility and that is what customers are looking for, surrounded by nature. “Taking a hot bath like this at night in the middle of winter is idyllic. Often, we are called and asked not to say anything, it’s a surprise for their spouse. It is possible to cool the water with a pump and mixing the bath with an oar hanging from the trailer.”

The Fosses pond in Cottes

For the bravest, it is possible to swim in the small pond by the river, but beware the water is very cold! The water is drinkable and a pump supplies the house and the rooms. A staircase leads to the pond and it is possible to swim. A small central island decorates the place. In time, around the 1900s, monks from neighboring abbeys came to wash their clothes in the pond.

The wedding bench

What strikes the view as soon as you arrive is the red English-style bench on the small hill in front of the pond. A peaceful place par excellence to meditate, read or simply admire the view. But this place also has a history because it has accompanied each wedding of the Sepulchre family, for the photos of the bride and groom, for generations.

Seminar room

A seminar room is located in the reception greenhouse. A cooker has been installed there. In winter as in summer, companies can organize their team building activities. Ideal for developing and sharing ideas in groups.

the shelter

A magical place for private use is located at the bottom of the garden. For children it looks like a dream playroom. But beware, this space is reserved for the families of the Sepulchre couple and close friends. Inside there are bedrooms and a kitchen. A small corner that is close to the heart of the owners, given the family roots.
