Japan defeated hosts Australia 2-0 in the ninth round of Group B matches in the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
Japan’s victory, which came thanks to substitute Mitoma (89, 90 +4), contributed to its official ascension to the World Cup in Qatar, accompanied by Saudi Arabia, which secured qualification before its match with China scheduled for Thursday as well.
