Osaka: In the Japan Open Super 750 badminton tournament, India’s Malayali player H.S. Prannoy entered the quarter finals. Prannoy defeated the former world champion Lo Kien Yew of Singapore by the score of 22-20, 21-19. The next opponent is Choo Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei.
Meanwhile, India’s other hope, Kidambi Srikanth, was knocked out in the pre-quarterfinals. Japan’s Kanta Tsuneyama defeated Srikanth 10-21, 16-21.
