Janusz Wojciechowski to resign? Even the president of PiS has no doubts.

– Farmers’ protests across Europe are a serious matter. There is a man in Europe who united all European and Polish farmers once morest the reform he proposed. This is Janusz Wojciechowski. Resign! – this is what Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said regarding the Polish commissioner.

Even Jarosław Kaczyński seems to have no doubts in this matter. Journalists in the Sejm asked the PiS president whether he was satisfied with Wojciechowski’s work.

I think that the Commissioner, and I will call him today because I cannot do otherwise, asked for it – he should finish his mission – said Kaczyński.

– But whether he will finish it, I simply don’t know, because I have no influence on whether he is a commissioner or not. This is solely his decision, but due to these very unfortunate statements, he should end his mission. This will only shorten it by a few months, because the next commissioner will be selected by the current majority – explained the PiS president.

“Neglect of the last eight years”

PiS MPs: former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Robert Telus and former deputy minister Anna Gembicka spoke in the Sejm regarding farmers’ protests and demanded the introduction of legal solutions regarding agriculture.

Kosiniak-Kamysz said in the Sejm that farmers’ protests across Europe are a serious matter. He noted that “there have never been such protests in Europe.” – We understand the reasons for farmers’ protests also in Poland, the negligence of the last eight years is unacceptable – he emphasized.

In his opinion, “the lack of profitability in agriculture is tragic.”

You have brought the Polish countryside to the brink of bankruptcy. And who is responsible for this? Who is the Commissioner for Agriculture in the European Union? Janusz Wojciechowski from PiS, nominated by PiS for this function – he said. – What did Janusz Wojciechowski say regarding the Green Deal, which you are now protesting once morest, being in the opposition? – asked the deputy prime minister.

He quoted Wojciechowski’s tweet from December 16, 2021, who wrote: “No, sir, when it comes to agriculture, I am not riding on the wave of the European Union, the European Union is riding on my wave. The green reform of the common agricultural policy was created in Warsaw and was called first PiS agricultural program. The CAP reform is 100 percent consistent with this program and is very good for Polish farmers.
