January 1st Price Increases: TV, Cigarettes, Dental Care, Cars, and Service Vouchers

As for your TV subscription, at the dentist or even for smokers: there will be numerous price increases in our daily lives from January 1st.

Bad news for your TV. Some packs will increase from January. If you have the complete package: TV, telephone and internet, it will be between 3 and 7 euros more expensive each month.

2 euros more for a pack of cigarettes

Cigarettes will cost you a lot more, all at once. The pack of cigarettes will increase by around 2 euros from January 1st. And if you have switched to vaping, there too, it will be more expensive: 1euro50 more for a 10ml bottle.

Under-gum scaling doubles its price

At the dentist too, it will increase. And a lot. The extraction of a tooth goes from 45 to 65 euros (and not from 20 to 65, as erroneously announced by the Belga agency). The usual scaling would increase from 64 to 68 euros (with proportional reimbursement, which therefore does not change the amount of the bill for the patient). As for subgingival scaling, it doubles in price to 96 euros (with proportional reimbursement).

The car is becoming more expensive too

If you buy a new vehicle, you will have to pay a new environmental contribution of 10 euros to finance its recycling in the future.

Increase in service vouchers

If you get help cleaning the house or ironing, be aware that service vouchers will also increase. They go from 9 to 10 euros in Wallonia.
In reality, you often already pay more than that.

Fortunately, there is a little good news. Salaries will increase by +1.48% for all employees of the joint committee 200, the largest in the country, which notably brings together sectors such as construction, garages and temporary employment agencies.
