János Lackfi reported on his social media page how he suffered a heart attack on December 24 last year. He was preparing for the Christmas celebration when he noticed a strange muscle fever and minor pains, but he attributed them to the building of a snowman the day before, which was bigger than his head height, but when a much stronger pain and numbness came, he was knocked out by the water, and it was as if a road roller had passed through his chest. the signs became clear.
János Lackfi had a heart attack
“I yell at my wife, my eight-year-old daughter would run away in terror, I selfishly beg her to stay, I hug her and Juli, because it might be the last time. We call the doctor, then the ambulance, the dispatcher stays on the line the whole time. Our great-granddaughter runs out onto the main road to direct the ambulance to our house,” the post reads.
The 52-year-old poet and writer wrote that he was lucky that he had a heart attack not while driving, alone or in the other part of the country, but during a performance. He was admitted to the Heart Center in Városmajor and received stents, which keep the narrowed vessel wall. He was sent to the Balatonfüred State Heart Hospital for rehabilitation. He was given medicines, the doctor warned him that he would die if he did not take the two most important ones. He also had to change his lifestyle, as a result of which he lost a lot of weight.
“I lost ten kilos, I liked to eat thick, now I like thin. Since then, I’ve been doing ten thousand steps, sometimes fifteen thousand, and I’ve been doing physical therapy. I cry a little more often. I can mourn, but I can also laugh. Somehow, everything around me had depth.
I’m discovering my new life. I’m considering what to marry and what not. I will blow up the calendar, there will be fewer performances.”
