World number three tennis player, Jannik Sinner, will face Grigor Dimitrov in the Miami Open final. He advanced to the final following beating Daniil Medvedev’s resistance with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
The world number three will appear in his third Miami final in the last four years. In his previous two finals, he lost to Hubert Hurkacz in 2021 and then Medvedev last year.
“The first time I came here, I reached the final and I mightn’t sleep the night before. The second time, which was last year, I felt relaxed because I had gone through a period where I already had (this) experience. Now I am a player who different, different people. I’m going to handle it with hopes of getting a little better,” Sinner said.
He admitted that he was nervous regarding facing the final match. That feeling arises because he is worried that he will never once more get the opportunity to play for a title.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Grigor Dimitrov has proven that he is not afraid of anyone. The Bulgarian came to Miami ranked 12th in the world, but managed to beat three top 10 players on his way to the final, namely Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev and world number two Carlos Alcaraz.
Dimitrov admitted that he was very happy with the way he achieved these wins.
“I think the consistency of beating the top players, for me is a much bigger success than anything else. If you do that, you will get ranked. If you do that, things will get better for you. But to do that, You need discipline, hard work and all dedication,” he added. (AFP/Z-11)
