VALLADOLID, 11 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
This Saturday, Janet Novás received the 2024 Goya Award for Best New Actress for her role in the film ‘O corno’. An award that she has dedicated to her grandmothers Carmen and Saladina, who were “wild and wise” women to whom this recognition highlights.
“For me, this award highlights that knowledge that connects with what is essential, a wisdom that is not articulated through words. It rests on the body and “You walk, you dance, you sing, to overcome the injustices to which they were subjected.”said Novas, who also dedicated the award to the entire team of a film that “smells like earth and tastes like life.”
Xinyi Ye and Yeju Ji also aspired to this award, for ‘Chinas’; Clàudia Malagelada, for ‘Creatura’; and Sara Becker, for ‘The Movie Teller’.
The Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences presents this Saturday the Goya Awards, the most important awards granted in Spanish cinema, which celebrate their 38th edition, a ceremony that takes place at the Valladolid Fair.
