A source told The Sun: “Janet has been preparing for her music comeback for some time now and is gearing up for a performance that’s supposed to be a smashing one. She is so grateful to her fans for sticking by her while she had a few years to start a family and wants to thank them with an amazing production. She will focus on the reissue of her 1997 album ‘The Velvet Rope’ as well as brand new material. It’s a huge deal.”
Five-time Grammy winner Janet, who has sold 100 million records and produced 11 albums during a career spanning three decades, is also reported to have announced at a party last week celebrating the 25th anniversary of her record ‘The Velvet Rope’ that new music is on the way. She was quoted as saying, “It’s so funny because I see the fans asking, ‘When are we going to get Black Diamond? Can you bring something out please?’ Sometimes things happen that you don’t expect to happen and you need to figure things out, or you’re at a place in your life where you need to step back and pause for a minute. Even if it’s something I absolutely love, it’s still my work, my job. Someday there will be music. When exactly? I can’t say yet, but it will come. I love it too much not to.”
