James Webb’s first photo sent to the Space Telescope

NASA’s new space telescope has sent the first images of starlight to Earth.

According to the Associated Press, NASA announced yesterday (11th) that 18 beryllium mirrors mounted on the James Webb space telescope launched in December last year are judged to be functioning normally.

On that day, James Webb sent a dotted image of the star HD-84406 in the constellation Ursa Major to Earth, as well as a picture of himself.

Currently, James Webb is said to be in orbit regarding 1.6 million kilometers from Earth.

At around $9 billion, James Webb is said to be 100 times more sensitive than the existing Hubble telescope.

In addition, it is expected to provide an opportunity to look into places that the Hubble Telescope has not previously observed by observing celestial objects using infrared methods.
