Astronomers made a discovery with the James Webb telescope A huge galaxy It is regarding 25 million light-years away, according to the Sky News Arabia report.

The researchers say that the galaxy, known as GS-9209, formed regarding 600 to 800 million years following the Big Bang, and is the oldest of its kind discovered so far.

Lead researcher Dr Adam Carnal, from the University of Edinburgh’s School of Physics and Astronomy, said: James Webb Space Telescope Indeed, galaxies were forming much earlier than we expected during the first billion years of cosmic history.”

He added: “This work gives us the first detailed look at the properties of these galaxies, with a detailed graph of the history of their formation, the fact that we also see a very massive black hole in this galaxy called the Quiet Galaxy.”

The researchers found that despite being regarding 10 times smaller than the Milky Way, GS-9209 has a similar number of stars to our galaxy.
