James Snyder
Harry Potter star fired from Broadway
James Snyder has been fired for Broadway play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The reason was a complaint from a colleague.
James Snyder (40), lead actor of the Broadway play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, has been fired from the production. Diane Davis, who plays Harry Potter’s wife Ginny, filed a “misconduct” complaint once morest her colleague on November 19. Like the producers of the play to “Entertainment Weekly” stated that an independent third-party investigation was promptly carried out. Snyder was meanwhile suspended.
Complaint came just three days following returning to Broadway
“At the conclusion of the investigation, the producers have agreed that Mr. Snyder should not return to production and have terminated his contract,” the statement said. Diane Davis is currently on leave. “In order to respect their privacy” they will not comment further on the incident.
The play, which has been part of Broadway since 2018, had only returned to the stage on November 16 – three days before Davis’ complaint. Both James Snyder and Diane Davis have been part of the cast since 2019.
