British singer James Morrison faces a difficult situation following the death of his partner, Gill Catchpole, found dead in their family home at the age of 45. Her death might be suicide-related.
The 37-year-old soul and pop rock guitarist is known for his hit songs like “You Give Me Something” and “Broken Strings.” The couple shared a family life in the town of Whitminster, England. Together, they shared two decades of relationship, and from there their two daughters were born, Elsie, 15 years old, and Ada, five years old.
According to British media, Morrison was alerted by a friend because Catchpole was not answering the phone, and upon arriving at the scene, they discovered Gill’s body in the residence. Additionally, Daily Mail revealed that authorities received a call from Gill herself, who spoke regarding her state of mind.
“Police were called to Whitminster in Gloucester at around 9.10am on Friday, January 5 due to concerns for the welfare of a resident. “Officers attended and the body of a woman in her 40s was found inside a house,” British police said.

This event adds to the difficult experiences Morrison has faced in the past, having lost his father, brother and nephew in a span of three years, a period that led him to take a break from music in 2015.
At this time, authorities continue to investigate to determine the exact circumstances of Gill’s death, however, it is noted that his death was caused by suspension by ligature (hanging).
