James Gunn confirms Guardians of the Galaxy 3 world record: Tape surpassed The Grinch mark | TV and Show

The film still has to wait more than a year for its release, but it was recognized for the large number of makeup used in the production.

Although its premiere is scheduled for May 2023, the film Guardians of the Galaxy Volume III is already setting world records. Through Twitter the director of the project, James Gunn, assured that, in the middle of the production of the tape, it was possible to break a mark that he left El Grinch 22 years ago.

“I just heard from our makeup people yesterday that Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 officially broke the world record for “the most makeup items created for a single production” (Beating The Grinch). Congratulations guys! Thanks for keeping the practical effects alive!” wrote the director of Peacemaker.

The previous record in this branch was held by the adaptation of the Dr. Seuss story, El Grinchwhere not only was Jim Carrey seen under green furry skin and yellow eyes, but also elaborated the appearance of all the characters present in the Who’s Villagewhich were characterized by their particular mouth and nose.

The so-called make-up elements or devices refer to a series of prosthetics that some actors wear to create the look of their charactersfor example, Drax’s scars, the beginning of Mantis’s antennae or the iconic Mohican of the deceased Yondu in the saga.
