There’s a saying for waiting for the good stuff, and we certainly had to wait for the HD versions of James Cameron’s The Deep and True Lies, which were finally released in 4K just before Christmas. Yes, you read that right, they join Alien, Titanic, and Avatar to make up the long-awaited six-part film franchise from the masterful director, which is now getting some much-needed HD love. So mark December 12th in your calendars, because that’s the day The Abyss, Aliens, True Lies, and Avatar will appear in 4K digital versions, followed closely by Avatar” received the same treatment on the 19th. All movies will also be released physically in 4K format, but only on March 12 next year under the auspices of Disney. All are promised with 4K discs, regular Blu-ray and digital codes.
