“I don’t normally respond to offensive rumors in the media, but I have to do it today,” Cameron wrote in an Instagram story. I am NOT in talks regarding an OceanGate movie and I never will be.”

This reaction comes following an article published in the English media The Sun, which indicated that the famous director was in discussion with a major broadcaster for the preparation of a series telling the story of the people who perished in the implosion of the submersible.

James Cameron therefore categorically closes the door to his involvement in such a project, even qualifying this prospect as “offensive”.

The Titan submersible imploded last month during its descent towards the wreck of the Titanic with five passengers on board, including the CEO of the company OceanGate, organizer of this expedition.

There followed several questions regarding the security measures of the device which would prove to be faulty according to many, arousing international interest in this widely publicized tragedy.
