Jalisco eliminates mandatory face masks, except in transportation and hospitals

The Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaroannounced that for the entity the mandatory nature of the shedswith the exception of public transport and the health system.

In a message to the public, Alfaro Ramirez noted that the decision was made in conjunction with his cabinet of Health.

“The numbers tell us that we are fine, we are making progress, controlling the pandemic in the state,” he said.

“The mandatory use of face masks in our state is eliminated. It will only have to be used on a mandatory basis in public transport and in health infrastructure, particularly in hospitals.

It implies that it is no longer necessary to do it in open spaces, nor in schools, because there has been an insistent demand due to the heat (…) We have made this decision because also, like everyone else, we have understood the fatigue that two years of bring this on top of us,” he added.

Finally, the president pointed out that this followingnoon the decision will be formalized by the Health Cabinet and will be published tomorrow, Tuesday, in the official media.

“Don’t let your guard down,” he asked.
