Jakarta Idaman: Will It Be Decided in One Round?
The Jakarta gubernatorial election results are eagerly awaited, with guesses swirling about a possible second round. Pancasila Youth (PP) is prepared to support the Ridwan Kamil–Suswono (RIDO) pair if the election goes to a second round, confident in their chances.
Shaqil Rekardianto, Head of the PP DKI Youth Division and Head of the PP DKI Student and Student Unit (SAPMA), expressed confidence in a second round and committed support for RIDO. He believes, based on quick count data indicating no candidate exceeding 50% of votes, that the election will continue to a second round. “We have faith this will require a second round. We are ready to work and fight tirelessly alongside the Ridwan Kamil-Suswono pair until the end of the second round," he stated to share with Jakarta residents on Saturday
While waiting for the official announcement, PP DKI, like all parties involved, are awaiting the complete tally by the Discussing Election Commission (KPU), emphasizing the importance of respecting the commission’s final decision.
“We are waiting for the official results from the KPU and, of course, will respect whichever candidate emerges as the winner,” Rekardianto explained.
If a second round is needed, PP DKI is prepared to engage Jakarta’s young people and mobilize votes for RIDO. “We believe in a second round, we are ready to participate actively to mobilize Jakarta’s young people”
The secretary of the RIDO Winning Team, Basri Baco, echoed the sentiment, urging patience while waiting for the official results. According to him the final decision firmly rests with the KPU.
"According to Indonesian law, the KPU is the only authorized body to announce the winner. We urge for patience as we await their official announcement," Baco stated.
He warned against premature celebratory declarations, reminding everyone that the official results come from a structured Count.
“We hope that no party or team will claim victory prematurely. These premature declarations can influence public opinion negatively," Baco cautioned.
They emphasized that
“the tiered recapitulation begins at the TPS level and proceeds through sub-districts, districts/cities, and finally the province,” each stage.
Be patient for the official樣的
